Dressed in windbreakers and athleisure with bare faces and hiking up a mountain at Yosemite National Park for their pre-wedding photoshoot perfectly describes Amanda and Wooi-Chen: unfussy, minimalist and modern.
Having already been married for a while in the United States where they called home, their Malaysian wedding was a celebration of their wedded union with their friends and family here, starting with a traditional tea ceremony in the morning where the bride wore a gorgeous pair of green heels and modern cheongsam.
As a nod to their spirit and style, dinner was an occasion filled with personal touches. Held at the uber-modern Cantaloupe at Troika Sky Dining, it was a perfect squeeze for their wedding party of around 80.
They picked a colour palette that matched not just their personalities but the vibe of the restaurant. It was clean lines and fun times! White florals and green foliage arranged in a lush, minimalist kind of way paired perfectly with the muted greys, blacks and the pop of warm yellow.
For wedding favours, Amanda and Wooi-Chen gave their guests personalised bookmarks with a delicate floral illustration on the front and some of the couple’s favourite lines from poetry and books on the back:
But, Amanda had one request that had to absolutely be perfect.
Set against a green backdrop, the white neon “ALWAYS” was the first thing guests saw as they entered the restaurant. Inspired by the Harry Potter books (Amanda is a Hufflepuff!), the singular word must end with a full stop. Doubling as a photo backdrop and entrance piece, it was a representation of the love Amanda and Wooi-Chen share: everlasting, unwavering and full of heart.
