Joy Personified

“The bonds that link your true family are not one of blood,
but of respect and joy in each other’s life.”

– Richard Bach

They say that the biggest parties come in the smallest of packages and at the wedding of Norman and Li, truer words could not have been spoken.

On the beautiful day with warm sunlight, crisp fresh air and the natural sounds of the environment, Norman and Li tied the knot in an intimate gathering of friends and family at Enderong House. Surrounded by the pure and untouched landscape of Janda Baik, the location and ceremony was a reflection of them as a couple. For Norman and Li are the epitome of simplicity, paring down lavish decorations and intricate programme details to keep the day focused on what truly mattered: their marriage.

With the vows spoken, the promises sealed with a kiss and the sun casting its warm, dusky glow over the hills, the party had just begun!

Warm fairy lights cast a romantic glow over the intimate gathering as the small wedding party sat down at Annexe Hall, shoulder to shoulder and elbow to elbow. There was no place for shyness or embarrassment as the sound of relationships being built and strengthened filled the air, with boisterous laughter and the kind of chatter that only a few glasses of red wine could elicit.

Most weddings are formal affairs with fancy dresses and stiff suits that make sitting down difficult, held in stately ballrooms with an assortment of cutlery to boggle your mind. It was only right that Norman and Li opted for intimacy over extravagance because as the night wore on, their guests really let their hair down. Literally, pulled them out of the hair ties and flipped it around a la Willow Smith’s I Whip My Hair Back and Forth. From the conga line to unbridled dancing, the whole crowd got on their feet and it didn’t matter if they were strangers when dinner began: a new relationship was born.

Weddings are joyous affairs, especially at one as intimate as this. And the crowd dancing the night away, wine glasses held aloft as they circled the newlyweds is joy personified.
